Man arrested after cops seize £100k of cannabis from motor during routine stop
A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with drugs and road traffic offences.
He is expected to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court tomorrow.
Enquiries are ongoing to trace two more men who left the scene.
Detective Constable Thomas Dingwall, from Dumfries CID, said: “This recovery, and the good work involved from Road Policing officers, shows that criminals may try to evade us, but we will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove illegal drugs from our communities.”
Anyone with any concerns about drug misuse is advised to contact 101 or report anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
Elsewhere, in a separate incident, we told how four men were nicked after cops seized a drug haul worth £450,000 in February.
Officers raided a property at an East Tullos Industrial Estate on Hillview Road in Aberdeen at 9:10am where they made the seizure.
Their search recovered £450,000 worth of cannabis and a five figure sum in cash.
The four men, aged, 52, 47, 41 and 40, were arrested for alleged drug offences.
Cops branded the haul a “significant recovery” and have urged the public to contact them about drug and organised crime.
