Glasgow bank raided overnight as cops launch probe

Bank of Scotland branch on Sauchiehall Street in the city centre was targeted in the early hours of this morning.

Cops raced to the scene at around 3.30am after the alarm was raised about the break-in.

Forensic officers were also spotted at the scene.

An eyewitness who saw police outside the bank this morning said it looked like it has suffered severe damage.

They told the Glasgow Live it “looks as if it has been ram-raided” and that “the doors were lying on the ground”.

Cash machines in Ayr, Milngavie, Motherwell and Livingston have all be targeted between January 30 and February 2.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were made aware of a break-in at a premises on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow around 3.30am on Sunday, 13 February, 2022.

“Enquiries are at an early stage.”

The 15-year-old girl was struck at around 7pm on Friday February 11 on New Edinburgh Road in Uddingston.
