Young mum found dead in Stirling home as man arrested
Detectives have arrested a man as part of their ongoing enquiries and cordoned off the property where the body was discovered as the search for clues continues.
The woman has been named locally as mother-of-one Claire Inglis, aged in her 20s with a seven-year-old son.
Friends paid tribute to her on social media, among them Amanda Duffy who said: “Stirling is a broken place today with a lot of heavy hearts.
“Evil, evil world we live in.”
Another, Rebecca Walker, added: “You didn’t deserve this at all, you were the most caring, funny and beautiful girl.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers were called to an address in St Ninians, Stirling, at around 5am on Sunday where a woman was found dead.
“A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and officers currently remain at the scene. Enquiries remain ongoing.”
Elsewhere, a woman was knocked down and killed in a horror road crash in Glasgow last night.
Police said the pedestrian was struck by a Ford Focus motor while crossing Balmore Road, close to Haywood Street, at around 6.35pm on Saturday.
Mercy crews rushed to the incident in the north of the city after the alarm was raised, but the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
