Glasgow cops swoop on residential street after gun found in property
A probe has been launched after with police confirming an investigation into the “circumstances” surrounding the find is underway.
Cops raced to the residential street in the southwest of the city after the alarm was raised.
An eyewitness reported a “handful” of police cars still on the scene at around 11am, Glasgow Times report.
The gun has now been safely removed from the house.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that a firearm was found within a property in Barfillan Drive in Glasgow at around 10.15am.
“It was safely recovered and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
Elsewhere on Monday a woman has been rushed to hospital after a horror crash on a busy Scots road left a lorry overturned.
Emergency service crews were called to the scene on the A76 just south of Sanquhar, Dumfries and Galloway at around 8.50am this morning.
A 22-year-old was also seriously injured after a collision at a “car meet” in Dundee on Sunday night.
