Coronavirus Scotland: Another 37 Scots die of Covid ahead of expected tier four announcement
Another 37 Scots have been revealed to have died from coronavirus.
It comes as the nation returned another 1, 248 positive tests.
The latest figures were published on the Scottish Government’s website this afternoon. ahead of Nicola Sturgeon’s address to parliament in which she is expected to announce a move into tier four for millions of Scots.
It takes Scotland’s coronavirus death toll to 3, 323.
Of the new Covid cases, 439 were recorded in Greater Glasgow, 282 in Lanarkshire and 153 in Lothian.
The remaining tests were confirmed across nine other health boards.
This includes 95 fighting for life in intensive care.
The First Minister is expected to announce that several council areas are being moved into the strictest restrictions of tier four from Friday.
She put areas covering Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire on alert ahead of an announcement today.
She blamed “stubborn” Covid rates as Scots cases fell to their lowest Monday tally in a month.
