Trump says he doesn’t want immigrants from ‘sh*thole’ countries
Donald Trump has sparked outrage after allegedly saying he doesn’t want immigrants from ‘sh*thole’ countries coming into the US.
Yes friends, the POTUS actally used the word ‘sh*thole’ when referring to Haiti, El Salvador and other African countries during an Oval Office meeting earlier today.
According to two people briefed on the meeting, Trump had been discussing a proposed bipartisan deal on immigration.
‘Why are we having all these people from sh*thole countries come here?’ Trump allegedly said.
He then suggested that the United States should instead bring more people from countries like Norway, whose prime minister he met yesterday.
His comments left lawmakers in shock.
Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. and Richard Durbin, D-Ill. proposed cutting the visa lottery program by 50% and then prioritising countries already in the system.
They also discussed adding $1.5 billion for a border wall.
The White House announced earlier this week that it was removing the protection for El Salvador.
According to reports, Trump had seemed keen on the deal earlier in the day but changed his mind during the meeting.
