Brighton and Crystal Palace will reignite their rivalry when they lock horns in the FA Cup third round.

The game holds major significance for English football as it will be the first game to feature the use of video assistant referees (VAR).

Roy Hodgson has revitalised Palace having lost just once in four games over the festive period – including a goalless draw with Manchester City – which they almost won after missing a penalty in the closing stages of the game.

Meanwhile, Brighton are in good shape themselves, having only lost once in five games.

Roy Hodgson said in his pre-match press conference that he will give some opportunities to fringe players including Bakary Sako and Patrick van Aanholt who impressed in the 2-1 win over Southampton.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (knock) will be unavailable for the game.
