Single mum cashing in on this perfect picture of the Royal family
It could take years of practice or a single lucky moment, but getting that perfect photograph can really pay off.
Karen Anvil’s image may seem like it was taken by a professional photographer, but she managed to snap the shot on her phone as the Royals attended a church service in Sandringham.
The 39-year-old is now selling the copyright and said the money she makes will help to fund her daughter Rachel’s university tuition.
Her photograph of the four Royals shows all four smiling, with the Duchess of Cambridge beaming straight down the lens of her camera.
Ms Anvil also revealed the simple secret behind taking the perfect picture – all you have to do is be nice.
She told the BBC: ‘I’m just very bubbly by nature and I was with my daughter and I got a bit excitable, I suppose.
‘I was just sort of shouting and I just went ‘Merry Christmas!’ like an idiot. I was fangirling.’
Ms Anvil, who has two jobs, said she hates to ‘play the single mum card’ but admitted earning some extra cash was too good an opportunity to pass up.
She added: ‘I want to save money for my daughter for uni and if I can do that, and can get that opportunity that’s amazing.’
Ms Anvil and Rachel, 17, joined the throngs of people waiting outside St Mary Magdalene Church and hoping to catch a glimpse of the family at their annual Christmas Day service.
After posting the photo on Twitter, Ms Anvil was inundated with messages from people praising the image, with some claiming it will go down in Royal history.
It has been liked more than 11,000 times on Twitter, smashing her previous record for the number of likes on a picture – five.
