A drunken Christmas Eve caps off three booze-fuelled nights in the UK

Plenty of people will be finding out today after revellers up and down the country finished off a booze-fuelled weekend by over-indulging on Christmas Eve.

Though a bit tamer than Black-eye Friday and Shitfaced Saturday there were still alcohol casualties in the UK’s towns and cities.
On Birmingham’s Broad Street the bars and clubs did a brisk business and pictures taken around midnight prove lots of alcohol was consumed.
Because nothing says Christmas like couples arguing, comedy pratfalls and kebab-breath kisses.



In Scotland, after two busy nights on Friday and Saturday, the Ambulance Service took to Twitter to ask for a bit of moderation.
They tweeted: ‘If you are out tonight celebrating Christmas Eve, please drink responsibly.
Staff at Euston station are serving up 200 Christmas dinners for the homeless
‘Every ambulance that responds to someone who has drunk too much is not responding to someone who an ill or injured person who needs us.’
However, at 11pm they tweeted: ‘We’re experiencing very high demand. We have answered 3,081 A&E calls today. Please help our crews and control staff by only calling 999 in a life threatening or serious emergency.’
But it wasn’t just partygoers demanding attention from the emergency services, a Christmas baby was born with the help of control staff talking to the expectant mother at a crucial time.
